The College of Community Development at Bakht Al Reda University witnessed the celebration of the National Tree Day(ALSHAJARAH EID )No. 59, which was organized by the forests of the White Nile State this morning in a statement to (the authority’s website), agricultural engineer Hatem Mukhtar Al-Nour explained that choosing the White Nile State to celebrate the National Day came for several reasons, the most important of which is that it witnessed during this year a very ambitious agricultural program in the field of cultivating reserved forests, popular afforestation, and forest reservation in addition to the extension and awareness programs, pointing out The White Nile is one of the states that are exposure to desertification and sand encroachment in the northern and western parts of it, in addition to the mass of grazing.
Noting that the selection of Al-Duweim and Bakht Al-Ruda University specifically for the events came due to the historical background of the city and Bakht Al-Ruda as a center for awareness-raising influence and its contributions to spreading awareness
On the agricultural program, Hatem Mokhtar explained that no less than 30,000 feddans were planted in the states with trees of sayal, acacia Nilotica and acacia Senegal beside shade and ornamental trees. 6 km, and 20 mosques, 30 Khalwah(Quran school), 20 schools were planted, in addition to Bakht al-Ruda University.
Anniversary commorate of Dr. Ghazi Al-Khidr, a participatory educational botanical garden was established for students of the Faculty of Agriculture at Bakht Al-Ruda University, in addition to signing a memorandum of understanding between the National Forestry Authority and Bakht Al-Ruda University to serve the state’s community.
